Driver's Licence Medicals
Car and motorcycle (class 1 and 6 ) licence medicals are required by the New Zealand Transport Authority at age 75 years and again at age 80 years and two yearly thereafter. You may also be required to undergo a medical if you have a pre -existing condition that may affect your ability to drive. A medical consists of a single consultation with the doctor and includes a medical questionnaire and examination and eyesight test. If you pass the test then the doctor will provide you with a medical certificate. As there is no government subsidy applicable for this service the cost is $75.00 for our enrolled patients and $80 for casual patients.
Commercial (Heavy Traffic) (class 2,3,4,5 and endorsements) licence medicals are required every five years. They have more strict requirements and incur a cost of $85 for our enrolled patients and $105 for casual patients
